Blanks
We use a mixture of EPS and IXPS blanks. IXPS is closed cell high density polystyrene foam which is non-hydrostatic (not water absorbant). Most
of the cheap epoxy boards use very low density EPS foam blanks. We use very high density EPS foam which is heavier, but more resistant to depressions. If you ding your Epoxy board made with an EPS blank, get it out of the water IMMEDIATELY!
NEVER leave a surfboard (any type) in the hot sun, or even worse in a car on a hot day. This can completely destroy a board, whatever the construction.
Glass job
These boards are laminated with two layers of 6oz fibreglass cloth top and bottom, using premium quality epoxy resin. Have you noticed that with most cheap
epoxy boards you cannot see the foam? These boards are usually painted, firstly to hide the low density foam and secondly to hide the poor quality resin.
At first look most people will not tell the difference between our epoxy boards and a traditional PU board. Bump in to another board with them though and
you will soon tell the difference. Tough as nails these boards - made to last. One of my good mates has been surfin his 6'2" B & W Fish constantly for the last
2 years or so. He is amazed with the glass job. Still no depressions on the deck and he tips the scales at 85 kg, and usually makes his boards look very second hand after just a few surfs.
Shapes
The blanks are totally hand-shaped to exact specifications that we give our factory. Proven designs that we know work.
6'2" X 22" X 2 3/4" an awesome small wave board that paddles effortlessly into waves. Very fast and loose, great fun in the summer and small winter surf. Mad if you don't get one! I have guys over 90kg riding these boards. They are the mal riders short board - very easy to transition from one to another.
6'10' X 22 1/2" X 3" (Twin Fin) much like the 6'2" Fish but for those whose six packs have become kegs. Also quite a good board as an alternative to a mini-mal. Now replaced with a Quad Fin - scroll down. Click here to order.
Specifications
Length: 9'
Width: 22.5
Thickness: 2 1/2' -3''
Fins: Quad with centre longboard box
There is enough width in these boards that they actually qualify for longboard comps!
These boards are just awesome wave catching machines for when the surf is too big for the Fish. Desiged specifically with the Wavegrinder fins in mind, with quads in the sides and a 10"
standard longboard fin box for the 9.25 Wavegrinder or the 5.5 Wavegrinder in an FCS adapter. We really designed this board for the short boarder who is just too fat and unfit to be in serious
wave catching contention now, but does not want to lug a mal around. This board is not for the walkers! Take off, stand on the back and carve around all over the place in virtually any size surf. Great fun!
